Uzbekistan to establish food industry association

The Food Industry Association will be established in Uzbekistan by late 2011, a source in the Uzbek government told Trend today with reference to the relevant resolution by President Karimov.

The Food Industry Association will be established in Uzbekistan by late 2011, a source in the Uzbek government told Trend today with reference to the relevant resolution by President Karimov.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, the association will be created by abolishing, reorganizing and merger of the associations. Its founders will be 39 fat and oil industrial enterprises, 21 enterprises of food industry, 46 enterprises of meat and dairy products and other enterprises.

The new organization will coordinate the activities of enterprises and organizations of fat, meat and dairy, food industry.
Moreover, the association will conduct market research of internal and external food markets.

The association will study international best practice of food production.

The association will also assist enterprises in organizing the work on standardization and certification of products, introducing modern systems of quality assessment, staff training.
According to the presidential decree, Chairman of the Association will be elected by the general meeting of founders.
