The deposits of the population, drawn into the banking system from Azerbaijani regions (regions of the country except Baku), amounted to 305 million manat or 8.3 per cent of total bank deposits as of October 2011, the statistical report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said on Tuesday.
The total amount of deposits in the country amounted to 3.674.95 billion manat. The deposits in national currency hit 1.823.2 billion manat as of November 1. This figure in Baku was 3.369.95 billion manat. The deposits in national currency amounted to 1.599.3 billion manat. The average interest rate in the country for the period was 9.4 percent and 9.5 percent in Baku.
