Germany, Kazakhstan plan to intensify cooperation

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev plans to visit Germany on an official visit in February next year.

An agreement on partnership in the raw material and technology, which should promote cooperation between the two countries, will be signed during his visit, Kazakh ambassador to Germany Nurlan Onzhanov said at the third session of the Kazakh-German Business Council for Strategic Cooperation.

"We should develop specific bilateral economic projects under this agreement," Onzhanov said.

In turn, German party expressed interest for promoting bilateral cooperation.

"For Germany, it is important to ensure constant and politically stable source of raw materials, which we need for industrial production, but unfortunately do not have in Germany. In turn, the German party can provide Kazakhstan with its equipment and technology, the Managing Director of Deutsche Bank in Kazakhstan Ulf Wokurka said at the sidelines of the session.

According to Wokurka, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Kazakhstan' President Nursultan Nazarbayev even in 2010 agreed to develop an agreement, which envisages raw materials and technology partnership between the two countries.
