In Jan.-Oct., Azerbaijan imported about 1.55 million tons of cement and cement clinker, or 19.3 percent more than Jan.-Oct., 2010, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend on Friday.
Cement and cement clinker in Jan.-Oct. was imported at about $77.1 million, or 29.9 percent more than last year.
Cement clinkers in Jan.-Oct. was imported in volume of 666,100 tons, which is 24.7 percent more than last year. Clinkers were imported at about $29.2 million or 17.4 percent more than the same period of 2010.
During Jan.-Oct., the country imported 880,900 tons of cement, which is 15.5 percent more than the same period of 2010. Cement in this period was imported at $47.9million, which is 38.9 percent more than Jan.-Oct. last year.
In Jan.-Nov. this year, Azerbaijan produced 1.3 million tons of cement, which is 10.3 percent more than the same period of 2010.
