Azerbaijan's Accounting Chamber of Azerbaijan plans to increase the number of audits in 2012, deputy chairman of the House of Adil Maharramov told Trend.
"About 23 inspections took place in 2011. Of note these took place on the JSC Azerenergy (production and consumption of electricity in Azerbaijan) sites, in several regional offices of the State Social Protection Fund, the Medical University and other institutions. Now there is a check in the University of Construction," Mr Maharramov said.
Despite the willingness of the Accounting Chamber to increase the number of inspections in recent years, the figure is only between 23-25 inspections per year.
"The number of inspections may increase in 2012. The more we have the more information there is to give an accurate conclusion. The purpose of the audit is not finding flaws, but to collect information," Mr Maharramov said.
He added that the final results of the 2011 inspections have not yet been summarised. Information about them will be available early in 2012.
