The Turkmen representative delegation is holding meetings in Mersin, Turkey, official Turkmen source said today.

The delegation includes Economy and Development Minister Byashimmurat Hodzhamammedov and leadership of the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of the country.

Turkey remains one of Turkmenistan's largest trade partners. In 2005 the foreign trade volume between the countries amounted to $341 million. This figure reached $ 3 billion in late 2010.

Turkmenistan primarily exports textile, oil and gas, chemical and agricultural products. Turkey supplies metals and metal products, household products, building materials, electrical, chemical and light, food products, vehicles and drugs.


Turkmenistan has registered more than 600 Turkish companies. They are working in such sectors as trade and investment, construction, energy, textile and the processing sector.
