An anniversary (10th) meeting of the intergovernmental commission of the international cooperation programme in transport TRACECA (Europe-Caucasus-Asia) will be held in Dushanbe, TRACECA national secretary from Azerbaijan Akif Mustafayev told Trend on Wednesday. The last session of the intergovernmental commission was held in Bucharest in November 2011.

He said the commission's next meeting is scheduled for May 2013.

"During the meeting, presidency will be transferred from Romania to Tajikistan," Mustafayev said.

He said a slight delay in holding next meeting of the intergovernmental commission is due to the fact that weather conditions in winter in Tajikistan can complicate the arrival of delegations from TRACECA member countries. Therefore, it was decided to hold it in May 2013.

"The exact date of the meeting has not been yet set, but it will be held in May 2013," Mustafayev said.

TRACECA is an international transport cooperation program between the EU and its Partner countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. It has a permanent Secretariat in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Currently, TRACECA member states are Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Iran.
