Israeli investments in Georgia will increase to $1 billion, Georgian-Israeli Business Chamber President Itsik Moshe told journalists in Tbilisi on Thursday.

According to Moshe, Israeli investments in Georgia were $300 million before the global crisis.
"But in the short time investments may rise to $1 billion", he said.

Moshe added that the delegation of Israeli businessmen had not been in Eastern Europe for three years because of the global crisis.

"Today, Israeli business is returning to the center of Tbilisi," he said.

Yesterday, Israeli businessmen were present at the ceremony of Tbilisi hotel complex of the highest category, which will be constructed by Israeli company RIXOS. Hotel apartments will be constructed at the Gudiashvili st., where museum and shops of high fashion will be located. $15 million will be invested in the construction of a well-known hotel brand complex.

Moses also thanked President Saakashvili for the pardon of Israeli businessmen convicted for bribery in Georgia.
