Uzbek-British joint venture to establish electric equipment production

The Uzbek-British joint venture "Neo Sun Light" will establish production of modern electric equipment worth $24.5 million in 2012, a source close to the project told Trend today.

The interlocutor said that the production capacity of the new enterprise will be placed in the empty areas of the plant in Bektemir region, Tashkent.

The project is planned to be financed by joint venture's funds worth $ 6.9 million, as well as borrowed funds to the amount of $17.5 million.

Most of the funds - $18.7 million are planned to be spent to purchase the modern technological equipment and over $2 million to purchase the imported components and raw materials not produced in the country, 25 billion soums - for construction, assembly operations.

The enterprise is planned to be commissioned in early 2013. The design capacity of the plant will be 42,000 washing machines, 60,000 stoves, 85,000 vacuum cleaners, 70,000 Artel and Samsung microwave ovens. About 80 percent of production is planned to be exported.
