Kazakhstan approves national plan on investment attraction by 2014

The Kazakh Government has approved amendments to the State Plan on investment attraction, the development of special economic zones and export promotion in 2010 - 2014, the Kazakh Ministry of Industries and New Technologies reported on Tuesday.
The National Plan should significantly increase the flow of foreign direct investment in the Kazakh economy that will give new impetus to the development of Kazakhstan and increase its competitiveness in the global arena.
The National Plan envisages creating a system work with foreign investors through involving all government institutions at all levels.
According to the Plan, target indicators on direct foreign investments and exports of processed products should be introduced in Kazakhstan for foreign organizations and local executive bodies.
Moreover, the plan envisages legislation improvement following the study of international experience in investment promotion, stable legislation ensuring and provision of special conditions for the strategically important hi-tech or large projects.
