Dushanbe and Moscow plan to discuss the possibility of import of tax-free oil products from Russia into Tajikistan by late December, Asia-Plus reported on Tuesday.

Tajikistan accepted the proposal to mull energy cooperation during Emomali Rahmon's visit to Moscow last week.

According to Tajikistan's Energy Ministry, Tajik delegation may leave for Moscow in coming days.

Exact date of visit and the delegation's composition has not been determined yet.

During the visit the sides may discuss issues of customs duties. According to the source, it is not clear whether Russia will agree to tax-free import of certain volume of oil products to Tajikistan, according to new indicative oil balance. The Tajik side is going to offer the new indicative oil balance to Russia during the delegation's visit.

According to the Energy Ministry, Tajikistan prepared indicative oil balance in summer 2011, but the volume of tax-free oil supplies, indicated in the balance, was not approved by Russia. In its new balance Tajikistan decreased the volume of tax-free oil products.

Similar agreement on tax-free oil products' export was signed between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, under which, Kyrgyzstan bought about 0.8 million tons of tax-free oil products from Russia in 2011.
