Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree to relieve from office RF Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Khristenko. Medvedev also awarded Khristenko with the Order of Honour for his major contribution to the state policy in the sphere of industry and long-term conscientious work, the Kremlin press service reported on Wednesday.

Viktor Khristenko, in the status of Chairman of the permanent Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, on Wednesday will hold its first meeting, Itar-Tass reported.

The Eurasian Economic Commission has already been called a supranational government of the Common Economic Space between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The three heads of state signed the agreement on the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Commission in November 2011. The Commission's main goal is the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union. The Commission will manage the integration processes within the Customs Union and Common Economic Space between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The Eurasian Economic Commission will have a Council made up of deputy prime ministers, which will carry out overall supervision of integration processes, and a Board, a working body to which all member states will delegate their representatives.
