Azerbaijan should create a competitive tax system and administration, Azerbaijani Taxes Minister Fazil Mammadov said in Baku addressing the forum on 'Tax System in Azerbaijan: realities and perspectives', on Thursday.
"Today, there is high competition in the spheres of attracting investment and economic activity in the region. Azerbaijan's Tax Service serves the largest economic system in the region and every taxpayer is important for us," Mammadov said.
He said the tax Service now fulfills not only the fiscal functions, but is also an important participant in forming competitive business environment in the country. It faces tasks such as the creating a constructive dialogue with taxpayers, diligence to emerging problems, assisting businesses and citizens in tax matters and innovations.
"From this point of view, we intend to work more closely with public organizations, study their proposals in improving tax administration, seek more convenient forms of mutual cooperation," Mammadov said.
