Iran has earned up to $1.1 billion for the first ten months of the current calendar year, started on March 21, 2011, through bunkering ships sailing in the Persian Gulf, the deputy oil minister stated.
Alireza Zeighami added that the value is $300 million more than the figure for the same period of last year, Pananews news agency reported.
He said that some 1.7 million tons of furnace oil and 28,000 tons of gas oil have been provided to the ships during the 10-month period.
Iran's fifth five-year development plan (2010-2015) has envisaged that through selling 4.2 million tons of fuels to ships, Iran will hold 30 percent share in bunkering in the Persian Gulf by the end of the current calendar year.
