Turkey's state budget surplus ups by 73 percent

Turkey's state budget revenues in January 2012 increased by 19.5 percent compared to the same month of last year. The figure hit 28.1 billion lira, the Turkish Finance Ministry's report, published on its official website on Wednesday, said.

The budget expenditures for the period increased by 17.1 percent compared to January 2011, amounting to 26.3 billion lira.

Turkey's budget surplus in January increased by 73.1 percent and amounted to 1.8 billion lira.

About 42 percent of the total volume of budget revenues was ensured by tax revenues.
The official exchange rate is 1.7601 USD/SDR on Feb. 15.
