Business portal to operate in Azerbaijan soon to regulate permit system

The information business Internet portal, created with support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) will work to control the process of licensing and permit system in Azerbaijan in the near future, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov said at the presentation of the portal on Thursday.
"At present, the operations are held together with the IFC to create a portal," deputy minister said.
The creation of the portal will increase the awareness of citizens and entrepreneurs in obtaining licenses and permits to conduct business by widely using the latest achievements in information and communication technologies.
Moreover, business entities who want to engage in any business, entrepreneurs who want to expand their activities or to work in new areas, can obtained the information from a single source. Thus, employers will get the practical means to reduce risks while planning the business.
The portal is designed for entrepreneurs, particularly small and medium business. It will reflect the information about the permits issued by central and local executive bodies.
However, a section of services will be created on the portal. The projects of legislative acts developed by the central and local executive bodies will be placed there. The texts of the projects will be stored on the portal during a month. They are available for comment from the public.
The creation of the portal is envisaged in the Azerbaijani President's decree on "Some issues in connection with licensing and permit system required for certain types of business".
The information on the procedures for obtaining permits for certain types of entrepreneurial activity is important in terms of improving the business sphere and increasing transparency in this area.
