Agricultural production prices increased by 4.7 per cent

The production prices for agricultural products increased by 0.6 per cent in January 2012 in comparison with December 2011 and increased by 4.7 per cent during the year in comparison with January 2011, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend on Friday.

Production prices on livestock increased by 1.3 per cent in comparison with January 2011 and by eight per cent during the year.

Production prices on cattle increased by 4.5 per cent during the year, lamb and goats by 3.5 per cent, poultry and eggs 21.7 per cent whilst other types of livestock decreased by 0.8 per cent.

Production prices on one-year's plant growth increased by 1.4 per cent during the year and perennial by six per cent. Production prices on wheat increased by 0.8 per cent, corn 28.5 per cent. On the other hand vegetables, melons and root vegetables decreased by 0.1 per cent.

Leaf and stock vegetables increased by 15.2 per cent, watermelons and cantaloupes decreased by 10.6 per cent, potatoes increased by 3.2 per cent, cotton 3.6 per cent, fodder plants 6.6 per cent and berries 1.4 per cent.

Tropical and subtropical fruits rose in price by 1.7 per cent, large fruits 10.8 per cent, other fruits and nuts 15.9 per cent. Production prices on citrus fruits cheapened by 9.4 per cent and grapes 9.5 per cent.
