Iran’s gold, currency reserve at $110 billion

The value of Iran's gold and foreign currency reserves rose by $30 billion to reach $110 billion in 2011, Fars news agency reported.

Iran ranks the 22nd among 175 countries of the world in terms of the gold and foreign currency reserves, the report added.

Meanwhile, the head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines, Yahya Al-e Es'haq has said that Iran's gold reserves value set a new record, standing at nearly $17.5 billion.

The gold reserves amount to nearly 907 tons in weight, Al-e Es'haq said on February 1.
