Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili hopes that the negotiations on free trade with EU will be completed next year, the president said in the settlement of Tserovani while visiting a new pharmaceutical company "Abifarm" on Thursday.

The President said that the process is being conducted successfully. He hopes that the negotiations will be completed next year.

"If the negotiations successfully complete, the country's economy will double," he said. "This will contribute to employment."

Georgia officially announced about launching the negotiations on free trade with EU last week. The first official meeting will be held in March.

The president said that besides the European Union, Georgia also plans to formalize a free trade agreement with the U.S.
