Kazakh Foreign Ministry Yerzhan Kazykhanov and his counterpart from the Republic of Djibouti Mahmoud Ali Youssouf discussed a possibility of transporting Kazakh goods to Africa through Djibouti territory within the official meeting in Astana on Monday, Kazinform reported.
"Djibouti's location is very significant in the region of the Horn of Africa in East Africa. Djibouti is the gateway to East Africa and has large ports," Kazykhanov said.
In his turn, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said that Kazakhstan and Djibouti could become important connection points in Africa and Central Asia.
Moreover, within the meeting the parties discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation and the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.
