Turkmenistan plans to increase electricity export
Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, March 10
Electricity is one of the leading sectors of national economy of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said at a recent government meeting, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Saturday.
Berdymuhamedov stressed that "the state policy in this area aims to satisfy the needs of Turkmenistan in the energy and increase the volume of its exports."
The President of Turkmenistan focused on the creation of loopback power of the country, reconstruction and modernization of a number of power plants, the introduction of advanced energy saving technologies.
It is planned to increase the level of power in Turkmenistan to 35.5 billion kw/h in accordance with the strategy of development of the industry in 2030.
Transport capacity at this stage allow the country to export electricity to Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Central Asia, project development is being implemented with regard to the delivery to Pakistan.
