Azerbaijan repays about 10 percent of KfW principal debt

Azerbaijan, Baku, March 13 /Trend A.Akhundov/

German development bank KfW signed 10 agreements totaling $179.6 since the beginning of its activity in Azerbaijan and till Jan. 1, 2012.

It was stated in a government report on the results of 2011, presented to the Parliament.
The implementation of 8 projects worth 71.4 million euro has been completed and 2 are still underway.

Some 78.3 million euro ($101.4 million) or 56.5 percent was spent from the total volume of credits allocated prior to January 1, 2012.

Some $16.2 million of principal debt was repaid to the KfW by Jan. 1, 2012
Azerbaijan has been cooperating with KfW since 1994.

Strategic directions are to restore power, water and other infrastructure to support the development of financial and banking sectors, the private sector, health, etc.
