Uzbek company implements new projects worth $200 mln

Uzpharmsanoat will start implementing 25 new projects worth about $200 million in 2012, the conern said today.
The priority is to create medicament production that is high in demand and imported mainly on import contracts.
The projects are planned to be financed through foreign direct investments and loans, and Uzpharmsanoat's own funds.
In particular, it is planned to implement a project to produce medicaments normalizing the intestinal microflora worth $21 million with the participation of foreign investors, fortified products - worth $8 million, cardiac medicaments - $5.3 million.
Foreign investments will be attracted to create joint ventures to produce antibiotic cephalosporin substances with a preliminary project cost of $37 million, and blood plasma-solution ($30 million), and vaccines from biotechnological materials.
The company said that more than $130 million investment in the pharmaceutical industry of the republic for the last ten years, of which $68.9 million - foreign direct investments.
The implementation of 20 new investment projects worth $70 million started in 2011.
About 12 modern high-tech facilities producing disposable syringes, ampoule, tablet and infusion medicaments, pharmaceutical glass containers, bandages were put into operation.
About 69 percent in the capital structure of the pharmaceutical companies fall to foreign partners, 31 percent - the share of local participants.
Domestic medicaments hit 40 percent of the domestic market.
The market demand for liquid medicaments, bandages and syringes for single use is satisfied by local production.
The need for tablets, injection and infusion solutions, ointments, antibiotics, immunobiological drugs is covered on the local market from 20 to 60 percent.
