Deposits of the population, attracted to the banking system from the regions of Azerbaijan (areas of the country, except Baku), amounted to 346.73 million manat for February 1, 2012or 8.3 percent of total bank deposits, the Central Bank said on Monday.
The total amount of deposits in the country amounted to 4179.5 million manat for February 1, 2.315 billion manat of which accounts for the deposits in domestic currency.
The volume of deposits amounted to 3832.7 million manat in Baku, 2056.65 million manat from which accounts for the deposits in national currency.
The average interest rate for the country was 8.9 percent during the period and 9 percent in Baku.
The amount of deposits on Absheron economic region amounted to 111.47 million manat, with an average rate of 9.5 percent, Aran - 55.72 million manat at five percent, the Gorno-Shirvan - 7.24 million manat at 6.9 percent, Ganja-Gazakh - 64.16 million manat at 7.5 percent, Guba-Khachmaz - 26.78 million manat at 7.6 percent, Lankaran - 25.79 million manat at seven percent, Sheki-Zagatala - 22.03 million manat at 6, a percentage of the Upper-Karabakh - 8.9 million manat at 3.7 percent, Kyalbyadzhar-Lachin - 2.3 million manat at 4.6 percent, Nakhchivan - 22.26 million manat at 2.3 percent.
