Georgia became a member of the Organization for International Carriage by Rail (OTIF), Georgian Railway reported on Friday.
The decision on joining the OTIF will come into force on May 1, 2012.
OTIF was created in 1980 and is aimed at creation of united regulatory system for cargo and passengers international transportation for its member countries. The organization includes France, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Turkey, Switzerland, Belgium and other countries.
