Azerbaijan, Baku, March 27 / Trend, A. Hasanov /

Russian aviation authorities claim that there are no restrictions on flights between Russia and Azerbaijan. In fact the airlines cancelled some flights themselves.

"All flights from and to Baku are being carried out as per the schedule of the airlines," Russian aviation representative told RIA Novosti on Tuesday. "There are no prohibitions or restrictions on the flights between the two countries."

The interlocutor said that the air-carriers themselves make the decision on the flights for commercial reasons. Today flights to Perm, Omsk, Moscow and Grozny from Baku were all cancelled.

Flights belonging to the Rusline Airline to Perm and Grozny, Ural Airlines (Moscow) and IrAero (Omsk) were all cancelled.

Earlier tickers for the flight were provided by the national airline Azerbaijan Airlines. However as from March 25 the company no longer provides tickets on this basis, Ural Airlines Baku Office told Trend on Tuesday.

According to the report, from May this year, Ural Airlines intends opening its own flight on the Moscow-Baku-Moscow route.

As airline IrAero told Trend on Tuesday, the reason for cancelling Baku-Omsk flight is due to lack of passengers.
