Iran plans to cancels visas for 60 countries to reinvigorate tourism

Iran plans to cancel visas for traveling to 60 countries in a bid to boost tourism and attract more foreign tourists, an official with the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization said.

Asadollah Mohammadpour told Fars news agency that necessary measures are being taken in cooperation with the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Iran has adopted policies to attract 7.5 million tourists in the next calendar year, which starts on March 20, the head of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization said on March 13.

Canceling visas for nationals of some certain countries, issuing visas at airports and establishing free tourism zones are among the policies, Hassan Mousavi told IRNA news agency.

The Employment Higher Council of Iran has approved creating 2.5 million jobs in the next calendar year, which starts on March 20, Fars news agency reported.
