GDP growth hits 7.2 percent in Georgia in Feb.

According to the preliminary estimates, real GDP growth was 7.2 percent in February 2012 compared to February last year. According to the Georgian Statistics Agency, real GDP growth was 6.7 percent in January-February of 2012 compared to the corresponding period of last year.

The precise data on real GDP growth in the first quarter will be announced on June 19.

The Georgian Statistics Agency has started making the monthly preliminary estimate of economic growth since 2012. It is being calculated on the basis of turnover rates of the enterprises paying VAT, deflator, fiscal and monetary data.
