Parties to receive funds for pre-election advertising in Georgia

The political parties will receive half a million lari ($ 1 = 1.65 lari) from the budget for the pre-election advertising. The amendments will be made to the Law on Political Associations of Citizens. MPs have today voted for the bill in the first reading.
According to the amendments, the funds will be allocated from the state budget to financially support the parties' pre-election campaign during the election year to pay for television advertisements. Only those political associations, receiving funds as a result of the last elections, will get funds.
The amount for a single electoral entity must not exceed 600,000 lari.
According to the amendments made to the Law on Political Associations of Citizens, political parties have the right during the year to present gifts for the holidays. The total amount does not exceed 5,000 lari.
