The sowing campaign will be realized in Kazakhstan in difficult conditions in 2012, the Kazakh Agriculture Ministry reported on Tuesday.

"The sowing campaign will be realized in difficult conditions in the current year due to the lack of available moisture reserves. According to the experts, poor moisture reserves were observed throughout the country after harvesting and autumn rains," the Ministry said.

The winter was cold enough, thus the soil has frozen deeply. Moreover, there was a small amount of snow in Kazakhstan in winter. Water and snow reserves hit only 25-35 mm this year.

"However, the next harvest will largely depend on the moisture conditions in spring and summer. Moreover, the conditions of plant vegetation will influence the future harvest," the Ministry said.
