The reuirement for the audit of companies to identify politically active individuals will be effective from April 4.
The change will also concern foreign nationals doing business in Georgia, the founder of major accounting company BDO Zurab Lalazashvili told Trend on Wednesday
He said if the facts relating to the political activity of companies are revealed during an audit, then the appropriate notice must be sent to the financial monitoring service of the Control Chamber of Georgia. Commercial banks operating in Georgia are entrusted with a similar obligation.
The corresponding amendment to the legislation has been made to curb illegal financing of parties in Georgia.
