SOCAR medical insurance program assistance center launched

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Azerbaijan's insurance company Pasha Insurance initiated establishment of the first specialized independent assistance center within the medical insurance program, which will exclusively serve SOCAR employees’ interests, Pasha Insurance said.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Azerbaijan's insurance company Pasha Insurance initiated establishment of the first specialized independent assistance center within the medical insurance program, which will exclusively serve SOCAR employees' interests, Pasha Insurance said.

"The presentation of the Assistance Center on servicing insured within SOCAR Medical Insurance Program was held with participation of the representatives of State Oil Company, Pasha Insurance and Turkish consultants. The Assistance Center created on the basis of Turkish experience and Pasha Insurance initiative considerably facilitates the work on servicing of the oil-industry workers and increases the productivity comforting the relationship of oil-industry workers with the insurer and medical institutions," the report says.

The Assistance Center is situated at the center of the capital in the Shikhali Gurbanov Street and consists of three offices - Reception working with insurers, Call-Center (Hot-line) and Center of database control.

Head of Risk Management Department of SOCAR Vugar Alakbarov, General Director of BS Management Consulting (Turkey) Ahmad Oktay, Chief Executive Officer of Pasha Insurance Nofal Rzayev, Director of Assistance Center Ehtiram Guliyev and other experts, who made a speech at the presentation, noted special importance of introduction of the concept of assistance service into the Azerbaijani insurance practice as the basic element of new model of the medical assistance of the Azerbaijani oil-industry workers.

"Now oil-industry workers aren't sent to any polyclinics or hospitals "to stay in a queue" with their problems, they apply personally or by phone to the Assistance Center, which attentively listens to the inquiry of the client and then advises solution of the concrete situations. By applying to the Assistance Center oil-industry workers now can quietly choose the doctor for diagnostics and treatment from the approved list of the state and private hospitals and clinics. It is also important that from the moment of applying to the Assistance Center and till the completion of treatment the insured worker is "under supervision" of the insurance company, so oil-industry workers are provided with operative support in case of any defects in medical assistance," the Head of Medical Insurance Department of Pasha Insurance Rena Mammadova- said at the presentation.

Start to the SOCAR Medical Insurance Program was given in January 2012, on the basis of the decision of the State Oil Company on transfer of the employees from state medical service to the corporate medical insurance service. The general performer of the SOCAR Medical Insurance Program is Pasha Insurance, which now serves 70,000 employees of the State Oil Company within this program.
