The bill on amendments to the Azerbaijani Tax Code will be submitted to parliament in late April-early May. These amendments will take effect on January 1, 2013, Deputy Head of the Main Tax Policy and Strategic Research Department at the Azerbaijani Tax Ministry Mahaddin Namazov told members of the Union of Azerbaijani and Turkish entrepreneurs (ATIB) today.

"The government is discussing the bill," he added. "It is expected to be submitted to the parliament in late April-early May."

He said the changes will cover the scope of restricting cash and stimulating non-cash payments, property tax and other issues.

"Not only the representatives of state bodies, but also the private sector, participated in preparing the changes," Namazov said.

As the bill is still under development, Namazov has not disclosed any details.

The ATIB was created on April 17, 2004. About 80 members have invested over $3 billion in the Azerbaijani economy. About 40,000 people work at these companies.
