World Bank recommends to increase electricity tariffs in Kyrgyzstan

The World Bank (WB) recommended Kyrgyz energy sector to increase prices for electricity in the country to support its viability, KyrTAG reported on Friday.
According the organization, current tariffs for electricity in Kyrgyzstan are lower than the cost price of electricity in the country.
The organization recommended Kyrgyz government to analyze the possible results of the price rise.
The WB mentioned that any price rise should be accompanied with the increase of productivity and decrease of losses, as well as improvement of payment collection.
