The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) announced results of foreign trade operations with 118 countries in Jan.-March 2012, the State Committee told Trend on Saturday.
The country's total trade turnover amounted to $7.895 billion, or 7.6 percent more compared to the same period of 2011.
Black ink worth $3.79 billion was formed in foreign-trade operations.
During this period 4,019 legal and physical entities were involved in the foreign-trade operations, 1,661 of them were legal entities, while 2,358 physical entities.
Export operations amounted to $5.84 billion for the first three months of 2012 or 7.7 percent more compared to the same period of 2011.
Share of public sector in export amounted to $5.565 billion (95.29 percent), private sector - $260.37 million (4.45 percent), share of physical entities - $15.45 million (0.26 percent).
Import hit $2.054 million in Jan.-March 2012 or 8.55 percent more compared to 2011.
Share of public sector in import operations amounted to $433.33 million (21.09 percent), private sector - $1.52 million (74.19 percent), physical entities - $97.25 million (4.73 percent).
Azerbaijan exported 998 types of commodities and imported 4,684 types in Jan.-March.
