Number of new enterprises rises by 30 percent in Turkey

The number of registered enterprises in Turkey in March 2012 decreased by 6.9 per cent, compared to the previous month, the Turkish Union of Chambers of Commerce said in its report on its official website on Friday.

The number of retail enterprises established in March increased by 8.22 per cent with the number of cooperatives by 23.55 percent.

The total number of enterprises closed down during the period decreased by 23.97 per cent, compared with the previous month and the amount of liquidated trade enterprises increased by 14.71 per cent with cooperatives by 14.43 percent.

The total number of registered enterprises grew by 30.83 per cent, commercial enterprises by 7.21 per cent and cooperatives by 20.45 per cent in March 2012, compared to the same month of 2011.

According to the report, the number of businesses closed down during the year declined by 17.43 per cent while trade enterprises grew by 45.67 per cent with cooperatives by 21.98 per cent.
