Azerbaijan's budget surplus exceeds 640 mln manat in first quarter

The Azerbaijani budget revenues totaled 3.487.7 billion manat, expenses - 2.843.2 billion manat, the budget surplus amounted to 644.5 million manat in the first quarter 2012, the Ministry of Finance said today.
The state budget yield was executed by 98.5 percent in the first quarter of 2012 or 719.3 million manat (26 percent) more than the same period of last year.
The Ministry of Taxes ensured 112.6 percent income (1.390.4 billion manat) or 156.1 million manat more compared to the forecast and by 229.5 million manat (19.8 percent) compared to the same period of last year. The proceeds from the State Customs Committee hit 251.7 million manat (100.3 percent). The proceeds from other sources amounted to 5.8 million manat.
About 1.839.8 billion manat were transferred from the State Oil Fund to the state budget.
The supply in the first quarter of 2012 was executed by 79 percent or 755.8 million manat (36.2 percent) more compared to the same period of last year.
About 1.178.3 billion manat (41.4 percent) were spent for social costs or 178.3 manat (17.8 percent) more compared to the same period of 2011. About 437.6 million manat (80.1 percent) were spent for industry, construction and mining, 152.2 manat (37.3 percent) - social protection and welfare, 38.2 million manat (29.0 percent) - maintenance of judiciary, law enforcement bodies and prosecution bodies, 37.9 million manat (22.9 percent) - state services, 16.1 million manat (58.3 percent) - costs connected with economic activity.
About 10.4 million manat (32.5 percent) were spent from the state budget for culture, art, information, sports and activity not related to other categories in the first quarter, health care - 9 million manat (12.3 percent), housing and utility costs - 5.5 million manat (19.4 percent), transport and communications - 2.1 million manat (19.6 percent).
About 138.6 million manat of public expenditure were spent on construction and reconstruction of social facilities (education, health, culture, sports, etc.) and 845.4 million manat for construction, reconstruction of power facilities, water supply, gas supply, transport, public utilities, drainage infrastructure and the purchase of equipment.
