Tender announced within new WB project in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani IDP Social Fund for Development is attracting managers within the World Bank project to improve living conditions and income of displaced persons in Azerbaijan, the fund said today.

The project needs specialists:

- Assistant manager for microfinance programs;

- Assistant manager for technical control over the implementation of
micro projects (two vacancies);

- Regional technical supervisor for the implementation of micro
projects (two vacancies);

- Assistant manager for the program to support young people and ensure profits;

- Regional adviser for youth support program and profit ensuring.

Applicants for these vacancies must submit the relevant documents till May 8 to the manager for procurement S. Ahmadov.

The tender was announced within the project to improve living conditions and income of displaced people in the country. World Bank allocated $ 50 million last year to implement the project. The total project cost is $ 78.5 million.

The project aims to improve living conditions and increase economic self-sufficiency of internally displaced persons.

About 200 micro-projects, which will cover 120,000-150,000 people, will be implemented within the project. The project will also contribute to improving the living conditions of about 30,000 people.

About 1,400 young people will be able to get professional education and grants to start their own business. Moreover, about 1,500 micro-loans will be given to displaced persons to launch or expand their own business.

In total, about 185,000 internally displaced people in Azerbaijan will get broader access to infrastructure and services. They will be able to improve their living conditions and the opportunities to earn money within new WB project.
