Abdujabbor Abduvakhidov, former rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) at the Foreign Ministry, has been appointed as rector of the Academy of State and Social Construction (ASSC) by the Uzbek President's decree.
Abduvakhidov previously served as a counselor of state to Uzbek President on science and education, headed Westminster International University in Tashkent, and was appointed as rector of UWED in July 2011.
By another presidential decree Kiemiddin Nazarov, who has served as rector of ASSC since 2001, has been dismissed.
ASSC was established by President Islam Karimov's decree in April 1995. Its main objectives are, in particular the training of young promising managers and executives among specialists with higher education, as well as development and apply of a new system of certification of managers and specialists.
On his status ASSC rector is equal to the President's counselor of state.
