Domestic companies are designing, building and installing the majority of Iran's oil and gas platforms without any reliance on foreign companies, Mehr news agency reports on Saturday.
Currently there are 44 drilling platform bases and top sides being built by Iranian contractors who have also made considerable progress in laying underwater pipelines.
Domestic companies have contracts to install about 1,000 kilometers of underwater pipelines.
Before Iran's revolution, European companies built all the oil and gas sea structures the country needed.
