Ekol has started the project of pumping out waste water as part of the Baku Olympic Stadium's construction in Baku, Ekol said on Friday.
A total of 588,000 cubic meters of waste water and 251,000 cubic meters of oil sludge were revealed.
Since the work started, 28,000 cubic meters of wastewater have been pumped out from the territory. The removal of oil sludge will be carried out in the second phase.
Established in March 2006, Ekol Muhendislik Xidmetleri was set up to solve existing environmental problems on the Absheron Peninsula. The co-founders are SOCAR (51 per cent) and Lancer SA Services (49 per cent).
In 2011, the company finished remediation and bioremediation works on land at the Absheronneft, Balahanyneft and A. Amirov oil and gas production plants.
