Iran plans to complete constructing 15 dams to provide rural areas with water this year (Iran's solar year ended on March 19).
Besides the dams, agricultural water task forces have been formed in Iran's provinces, Mehr news agency reports.
The task forces will focus on supplying agricultural projects with water and water conservation, Deputy Minister of Energy for Water and Wastewater Affairs Mohammad Reza Attarzadeh said.
The government planned to complete constructing a large number of water supply and irrigation facilities along with the required funding, Attarzadeh said.
