Azerbaijan, Baku, June 5 / Trend A. Akhundov /

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee does not exclude the possibility of state involvement in creating the first independent economic operator, Chairman Aydin Aliyev told media today.

He said that private and state sectors may be involved in this process.

"The experience of other countries in this area, particularly Sweden, where this institution was first created, and Korea is being studied," Aliyev said.

He said that at present, the process of adopting the regulations is underway to ensure the activity of economic operators.

Independent economic operators will appear at Azerbaijani customs.
This is one of the main innovations of the new Customs Code, which has come into effect since January 2012.

These companies will be able to implement customs registration. This is a more modern form compared to the activity of customs brokers.

Independent economic operators will work on the basis of a license issued by the State Customs Committee.
