Number of registration transaction ups in Georgia in May

The number of registration transactions in the property market on the scale of the country amounted to 51,243 units in May 2012, the Georgian Statistics Agency told Trend today.
May 2012 is characterized by single-valued growth compared to the same month of 2007-2011, the growth hit 41.0 percent compared to May 2007, 45.9 percent compared to May 2008, 2.3 times compared to May 2009, by 48.5 percent compared to May 2010 and 15.5 percent compared to May 2011.

The number of registration transactions increased by 38.2 percent compared to the previous month. The growth was recorded in the number of the primary registration transactions (60.8 percent) and secondary registration transactions (33.0 percent). The monthly transaction index was registered at 1.652 in May 2012 compared to the previous month. This exceeds the index of the same period of last year (1.430) and the index of the previous month (1.195).

Primary transaction markets increased by 41.8 percent and secondary transaction markets by 9.9 percent compared to May 2011. In May 2012 the number of primary transactions totaled 11,079 units, secondary - 40,164 units. The monthly index of registration transactions on primary and secondary transactions amounted to 1.191 and 1.850.

Regarding the ratio between primary and secondary transactions, the share of primary transactions increased compared to the previous month. About 78.4 percent of conducted registration transactions fall to secondary transactions, 21.6 percent - primary transactions.
