Regions of Azerbaijan accounts for more than 12 percent of bank loans

Some 1273.39 million manat or 12.4 percent of the total loan portfolio of banks accounts for the regions of Azerbaijan as of April 1, 2012, the Central Bank of the country (CBA) said.
The banks issued 10263.2 million manat, including 6644.5 million manat (64.74 percent) in national currency and 3618.7 million manat (35.26 percent) - in foreign currency at the beginning of April 2012, CBA said.

According to the CBA, at the beginning of April 2012 were issued by banks 10263.2 million manat, including 6644.5 million manat (64.74 percent) in national currency and 3618.7 million manat (35.26 percent) - in foreign currency.

In Baku, this figure amounted to 8989.81 million manat, where 5672.4 million manat accounts for the loans in local currency.

The average interest rate on the country in April was 16.2 percent, Baku - 15.5 percent.
Lending to Absheron economic region totaled 295.5 million manat at an average rate of 17.9 percent, Aran - 285.5 million manat at 22.6 percent, Gorno-Shirvan - 32.58 million manat at 20.7 percent, Ganja -Gazakh - 272.23 million manat at 21.2 percent, Guba-Khachmaz -105.7 million manats at 20.4 percent, Lankaran - 120 million manat at 24.1 percent, Sheki-Zagatala - 78.78 million manat at 22.8 percent, Upper Karabakh - 12.2 million manat at 21.3 percent, Kalbajar, Lachin - 1.98 million manat at 17.4 percent, Nakhchivan - 68.82 million manat at 11.2 percent.
