Special manual for cereal storage to be issued in Turkmenistan

A special manual for cereal storage is being prepared in Turkmenistan. It includes the basic requirements for the maintenance of granaries - elevators and bins, grain processing enterprises, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper said.

The compilers are the representatives of the Ozone Office under the Turkmen Ministry of Nature Protection, as well as the "Turkmengallaonumleri" Association, Ministry of Health and Medical Industry.

The provisions of this document are based on the norms of national standard and are intended for specialists involved in storage and disinsection of legumes, as well as the production of bakery products.

There is also a chapter dedicated to interstate standards and technical conditions of keeping certain legumes.

Turkmenistan was among the wheat exporters in 2010. More than 1.3 million tons of wheat were collected. This year, the procurement centers in the country have already received more than one million tons of wheat of 1.6 million tons within the plan.

TurkmenGallaOnumlery (Turkmen Grain Association) plans to sell about 300,000 tons of wheat of last year's harvest in foreign markets exceeding the country's domestic needs through the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange this year.

According to the newspaper, the manual has the items relating to the methods of preventing pest infestation sites by using physical, mechanical, biological and chemical methods.

"It should be stressed that zoologists in the issue insist on the indispensable regulation of the measures toward warm-blooded insects - birds and rodents," the article said. "This is connected with the fact that there are species included in the Red Book of the country."

Moreover, the manual contains a lot of technical footnotes to help users quickly find cases of infection by various grain insects - pests, and a list of the necessary work of modern equipment.
