From the beginning of 2012, the Turkmennebit (Turkmenoil) public company delivered 2.7 million tons of raw materials to an oil refinery in Turkmenbashi, the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources said on Monday.

'This result has created an opportunity for the procurement of 740,000 tons of gasoline, 840,000 tons of diesel fuel and about 260,000 tons of kerosene. This figure is much higher than last year's results', the statement said.

The country is implementing the National Programme for the Development of oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan until 2030 which provides for increasing the volume of petroleum products and improving their quality as a result of processing of hydrocarbon raw materials.

In 2015, Turkmenistan plans to increase the capacity of oil refining up to 15 million tons per year. In 2020 it will rise to 20 million tons, in 2025 - up to 22 million tons and in 2030 - up to 30 million tons.

In accordance with the approved plans, this will be achieved through the construction of three new refineries and upgrading existing plants, including the one in Turkmenbashi and one in Seydi located in the east where tender winners were determined recently

At the same time, the country annually produces about 10 million tons of oil, much of which is processed at local factories.

The largest enterprise of the country, the refinery in Turkmenbashi city, will, in the near future, begin construction of plants for the production of benzene, toluene, xylene and their derivatives.

At present, it produces various types of gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, lubricating and universal oils and coke.
