Gross agricultural production increased by 26.8 percent in Kazakhstan in 2011 compared to 2010, the Kazakh Statistics Agency reported on Friday.
"Manufacture of gross agricultural production amounted to 2.286.0 billion tenge [149.17 tenge = $1] in 2011," the agency said.
Crop production hit 1.337.2 billion, livestock production amounted to 942.4 billion tenge in the reporting period.
The largest agricultural producers in the country are Kostanai region (17.3 percent of total production), North Kazakhstan (15.5 percent), Almaty (12.7 percent), Akmola (10.8 percent) and South Kazakhstan (9.1 percent) regions.
