Kazakh factory ‘Asia Auto’ increased car production by 2.5 times in the first half of 2012 compared to the same period of 2011

Kazakh factory 'Asia Auto' increased car production by 2.5 times in the first half of 2012 compared to the same period of 2011, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the factory.

" Asia Auto factory produced 6,547 cars in the first half of 2012, exceeding last year's production by 2.5 times. The factory accounts for 88 percent of all passenger cars production in Kazakhstan," the factory said.

Among the cars produced by Asia Auto factory are such brands as KIA (35.6 percent of all produced cars), Lada (32.9 percent), Chevrolet (21.8 percent) and Skoda (9.8 percent).
Some 5,958 cars, produced by Asia Auto, were sold in Kazakhstan in the first half of 2012 (2.3 times increase in sales compared to the same period of 2011).

Car factory Asia Auto located in Kazakh city of Ust-Kamenogorsk was founded in 2002 and it is the largest car producer in Kazakhstan. Among the factory's partners are such world's leading corporations as Volkswagen Group, General Motors, Renault-Nissan-AvtoVAZ and KIA Motors.
