Turkey's leading banks - Ziraat Bankası, Yapı Kredi and Türk Ekonomi Bankası (TEB) announced its earnings figures for the second quarter and first half of 2012, Kamuoyunu Aydınlatma Platformu KAP said on Friday.

Turkey's leading banks - Ziraat Bankası, Yapı Kredi and Türk Ekonomi Bankası (TEB) announced its earnings figures for the second quarter and first half of 2012, Kamuoyunu Aydınlatma Platformu KAP said on Friday.

It is noted in the report that the profit of Turkish Ziraat Bankası increased by 38 percent during the second quarter of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011, amounting to 613.7 million lira. The profit of the bank increased by 25 percent during the first half of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011, amounting to 1.27 billion lira.

Net interest income of the bank increased by 39 percent to 1.7 billion lira during the second quarter of 2012.

Profit of Yapı Kredi amounted to 838 million lira in the first half of the year. Earnings amounted to 424 million lira in the second quarter of 2012.

The profit of Türk Ekonomi Bankası increased by 1.5 times compared to the same period in 2011, amounting to 127.3 million lira. Bank's profit amounted to 242.7 million lira in the first half of the year.
